Sharing Songs and Unforgettable Voices': A Shared Island Community Arts Collaboration Project - Year One
This Shared Island initiative is sponsored by the Irish government and funded by Creative Ireland through Fingal County Council. The project spans two years - 2024/25 - where we create and nurture connections with these choir members, North and South, through singing, music, poetry, shared creative learning and public performances in both communities. The project will include the commission of two new songs, inspired by all choir members, which will be performed on both sides of the border and captured in a shared memory book.
The Birds of Fingal
Fingal has a diverse set of habitats from farmland to coastal islands, parklands to urban sprawl. These
provide a diverse range of birds from the garden Robin to rare Roseate Terns. The talk by Dr. Frank Prendergast of Birdwatch Fingal will explore Fingal’s habitats, wild bird sightings and sounds, and what we can do to protect these for the future.
