In this 90-minute session, YA writer and reviewer Claire Hennessy will explore the key things to consider when writing for teenagers today

Have you got lots of ideas but can’t get them down on paper? Is your writing happening in fits and starts and going nowhere? Have you written in the past or would love to start to write now?

Is the choice of subject matter or ‘content’ crucial to the effectiveness of a poem? If so, how do we distil experience to find its poetic essence? And then, how do we develop what John Cage called the ‘field of possibilities’ that will make the poem happen in its most appropriate form?

Comedian Pierre Novellie will be in conversation with writer and performer Erin McGathy, to discuss his book Why Can’t I Just Enjoy Things?

Work has commenced on the new Donabate Library which is scheduled to open by the end of this year.
