Salt Bin Scheme
Fingal County Council offers a ‘Salt Bin’ Scheme which allows local community groups, tidy town groups, resident associations to prepare for the winter period.
The salt bin must be placed on a public road or footpath only. There will be 2 types of bins available for purchase:
- 200 Litre Bin €170.00 incl. VAT
- 500 Litre Bin €250.00 incl. VAT
Both options above include delivery and one fill of salt. It is the responsibility of the applicant to arrange for the refilling of the bin once supply has been exhausted. Ongoing salt supplies will not be arranged by the Council. Applicants can purchase salt/grit from local suppliers, hardware stores, etc.

Fingal County Council will provide replacement bins for damaged/stolen bins at a €50.00 discount. These can be applied for using the application form above. The applicant must arrange for the safe and correct disposal of the damaged bin.
