Malahide Beach

Malahide sea

Malahide Beach is 2 km long consisting of an estuary and a marina.

Malahide is situated in north county Dublin, about 5km east of Swords and the M1 motorway.

Dublin Bus operates the 32, 42 and 142 routes. These stop at a 5 minute walk from the bus stop. Alternatively, Irish Rail's Malahide train station is 10 minutes' walk from the beach. If you'd rather travel by car, check the Google map link at the Location sidebar on the right of this page to plan your route.

Facilities include car parking, public toilets, and a lifeguard station operational during summer months only. Lifeguards are on duty from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturdays and Sundays in June and every day from July to August.

Due to dangerous currents from the estuary and marine traffic, Malahide flies a red flag permanently.

The water quality at Malahide beach is monitored regularly from mid-June to mid-September every year. Water quality results are available on the beach noticeboard.
