Enjoy the May Bank Holiday Weekend but remember to think safety and consider others and the environment as you do.

Parks

Enjoy the May Bank Holiday Weekend and if the weather gives us something extra to celebrate like today be sure to take the opportunity to visit the Fingal coastline to relax. If you do head to the beach, remember there are no lifeguards on duty yet & the water is still pretty chilly - so exercise care see www.watersafety.ie for advice. Please be considerate of local residents - if you decide to drive please park in designated places & take any rubbish home with you, clean up after your dog and help us keep our beaches pristine for everyone to enjoy. #leavenotrace

Water safety

As the bathing season hasn't started there are no Fingal Lifeguards on duty this weekend.

Water Safety Ireland, in conjunction with the Coast Guard and RNLI, have issued an appeal to the public to stay safe around water this May Bank Holiday weekend.

As the weather improves, more people will participate in coastal and water-based activities. The three organisations say that while these activities are enjoyable, they should be properly planned. As alcohol is a contributory factor in around one third of drownings in Ireland, they are also appealing to the public to stay away from waterways if alcohol has been consumed.

Think Road Safety

4 people were killed and 27 seriously injured on Irish roads over the 2022 May Bank Holiday weekend. This year help us get everyone where they're going safely. Wear your seatbelt, lower your speed and never ever drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
