Planning Public Counters re-opening on an appointment only basis from Wednesday 27th May 2020
The planning public counters at County Hall, Swords and Civic Offices are to re-open on Wednesday 27th May 2020 on an appointment only basis and this is limited to the viewing of current planning applications only. In the interest of public health, Fingal County Council is encouraging that all customers check current planning applications online at https://planning.agileapplications.ie/fingal
In the event that you cannot find the planning application you are searching for online, you can email a request to arrange an appointment to view the application at your local public planning counter, detailed below (please include the planning application reference number):
Applications for the Swords, Balbriggan, Swords, Balbriggan, Rush-Lusk and Howth-Malahide Local Electoral Area can be viewed at County Hall, Swords and applications for the Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart, Castleknock and Ongar Local Electoral Areas can be viewed at Civic Offices, Grove Road, Blanchardstown by emailing: [email protected] .
We continue to accept and validate applications by post to:

In addition, it is possible to deliver planning applications to a dedicated “drop-box” which will be outside the rear of County Hall, off Chapel Lane, in Swords. The drop-box will be available each Thursday and Friday between the hours of 9.00am and 1.00pm
Planning Applications – Submission Deadlines and Decision Due Dates
As we outlined on 31st March 2020, Fingal County Council continued to accept and validate applications by post and to a dedicated “drop-box” during the period of the Order made under Section 251A(4).
Planning & Development Act 2000 (as Amended) - Emergency Measures in the Public Interest
The period from 29th March to 23rd May (both dates inclusive), referred to as the ‘emergency period’, is disregarded for the purposes of calculating time limits as regards the processing of a planning application under the 2000 Planning Act and their Regulations.
The submission deadline and decision due dates for applications received between the 30th March and the 22nd May 2020 are 29th June 2020 and 20th July 2020 respectively.
The submission deadline and decision due dates for applications received between 21st February and 29th March 2020 have the period from 29th March to 23rd May (both dates inclusive), disregarded and will be between the 25th May 2020 and 25th June 2020, for submissions and between 15th June 2020 and 16th July 2020 for decisions, depending on date of lodgement.
