Number of Fingal projects shortlisted for prestigious LAMA Awards
Fingal County Council has been shortlisted for this year’s Local Authority Member Association (LAMA) awards. The awards, now in their 20th year, celebrate the collaboration between communities and local authorities to improve lives across Ireland.
The four Fingal nominations reflect the council’s ongoing investment in local services and its work with community groups and businesses. These projects span key areas such as Wellbeing, Inclusivity, and Environmental initiatives, showcasing Fingal’s commitment to creating vibrant, sustainable communities.
Mayor of Fingal County Council, Tom O’Leary said “I am delighted to see Fingal shortlisted with four LAMA Award nominations. With over 533 entries to the awards this year, being shortlisted in three of the seven categories is a testament to the outstanding commitment and dedication of the council in its ongoing work on behalf of the communities we serve.”

The LAMA Awards highlight excellence in categories ranging from sustainability and mental health to housing regeneration and innovation, culminating in prestigious honours like the Grand Prix Award and Lifetime Achievement. This year’s ceremony promises to be a landmark celebration of community success and partnership nationwide.

Best Irish Festival |The Fingal Write Time Literary
Fingal Libraries’ annual celebration of creative writing and literature showcases literary events and expert-led workshops across our branches inviting the public to learn about the writing process and craft.
Best Inclusive Community Wellbeing | Water Sport Ability Camp
Fingal County Council, in partnership with Active Connections and Howth Yacht Club welcome young participants of different abilities from all over Fingal to this inclusive camp using adaptive equipment and one on one support from trained instructors.

Community Wellbeing Initiative |Talking Heads project
Talking Heads is a collaboration between FCC, HSE and CYPSC (Fingal and Dublin North City) focused on reducing the stigma around suicide. We’re encouraging barbers to sign up to Let’s Talk About Suicide Training and to signpost their customers to appropriate mental health supports. See video here.

Excellence in Sustainable Major Infrastructure Delivery | Church Fields Mixed Tenure Housing Development
Church Fields is a landmark mixed-tenure housing development in Dublin 15, setting new standards for affordability, sustainability, and integrated community living. As part of the wider Church Fields masterplan, this project delivers a balanced mix of Affordable, Social, and Cost Rental homes alongside essential infrastructure and amenities.
The LAMA All-Ireland Community and Council Awards 2026 will celebrate 20 years of the awards and 40 years of the LAMA Executive, and take place in the Dublin Royal Convention Centre on February 28th, 2026.
