New funding for enhancing Fingal towns announced

A Fingal County Council Shopfront Enhancement Scheme designed to enhance town centres throughout Fingal has been announced, with businesses across the county being encouraged to apply for the new funding.

The Shopfront Enhancement Scheme funding reflects Fingal County Council’s vision of delivering vibrant and sustainable places for all. The Town Regeneration Office will support shopfront enhancement to include Shopfront Repair/Brickwork Repair, External Painting, and Signage Replacement.

Mayor of Fingal, Cllr. Tony Murphy welcomed the new Shopfront Enhancement programme and said: “It presents a unique opportunity for businesses located along the streets of our towns and villages to refresh, repaint and restore vibrancy to their premises.  I would encourage businesses to avail of this excellent opportunity to enhance their premises.” 

Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, AnnMarie Farrelly commented: “This new funding represents a collaborative effort between the local authority and valued businesses across Fingal. This strategic partnership aims to significantly bolster the appearance and prosperity of our villages and town centres, underscoring the Council’s commitment to our communities.”

The Streetscape Enhancement Scheme 2026 is now open and is seeking expressions of interest from qualifying premises located within areas designated as “Major Town Centre”, “Town and District Centre”, “Local Centre” or “Rural Village” within the Fingal County Development Plan 2023-2029. 

Under the scheme, up to 90% of the cost of improvements, to a maximum grant amount of €2,000 per eligible property, is available, subject to terms and conditions.

Expressions of interest must be received by Fingal County Council by 12 noon on August 28th 2026.
