Do Not Swim notice removed from Velvet Strand, Portmarnock

Please be advised that the temporary Do Not Swim warning Notice for the Velvet Strand in Portmarnock has been removed.

Results received today (5th September) from samples taken on 3rd September indicate a return to “excellent” status for Velvet Strand, Portmarnock beach and the notice will be removed.

The removal of the notice will end the above incident.

Members of the public can check for water quality at any of the monitored bathing waters in Ireland in advance by accessing the EPA website at www.beaches.ie or by checking the notice board at the entrance to each beach.
