Council offering free effective leadership programme for women of Fingal
To help women develop their leadership skills and learn about how to initiate positive change, Fingal County Council has announced that it will be running a new programme She Leads, We Lead for local residents, with sessions led by a team of women who have all championed change in their own communities through effective leadership.
To help women develop their leadership skills and learn about how to initiate positive change, Fingal County Council has announced that it will be running a new programme She Leads, We Lead for local residents, with sessions led by a team of women who have all championed change in their own communities through effective leadership.
Starting on November 15, the free eight-week programme will explore the achievements, challenges and opportunities that women can experience through community action. The seminars aim to motivate and train women to become effective leaders in their community, helping to improve confidence through the development of key skills and by sharing understanding around how other leaders work.
The diverse group of women headlining the She Leads, We Lead programme include Ayodele Yusuf (Balbriggan Integration Forum), Catherine Joyce (Blanchardstown Traveller Development Group), Shelly Gaynor (Independent Living Movement Ireland), Bridie O’Reilly (Fingal Older People’s Council) and Geraldine Rooney (Fingal PPN and Centre for Independent Living Blanchardstown).
For anyone interested in learning more about the programme and what it involves, a number of open sessions with the tutors will be held, beginning with an introductory meeting at Mountview Community Centre (7pm-9pm on Wednesday November 3). An online meeting will also take place on Thursday November 4 (7pm-9pm).
