Fingal County Council is gearing up for a massive celebration on Ireland’s National Day, with seven St Patrick’s Day parades taking place across the county on Tuesday, 17 March. 

This week, Fingal’s Comhairle na nÓg visited the Council Chamber for a meeting with the Mayor of Fingal, Cllr. Tom O’Leary, and the Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, AnnMarie Farrelly.  

Fingal County Council Arts Office is currently undertaking an ongoing evaluation of the Fingal Artists’ Support Scheme and the Awards & Residency Programme, as part of our commitment to strengthening and developing our supports for artists across the county.

A very special concert will take place on Saturday, 21 February at 7.00pm in the iconic Stormont Great Hall. Sharing Songs, Unforgettable Voices marks the culmination of a two-year, cross-border collaboration uniting two dementia-inclusive community choirs and 150 participants from Larne, Co. Antrim and Baldoyle, Co. Dublin.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow warning for rain for all of Leinster, with risk of flooding in various locations. A high wind warning is also active, with wave overtopping likely amid high tides.

Fingal County Council in partnership with Age & Opportunity and the Tyrone Guthrie Centre welcome the return of the 2026 Residency Award. 


 

Dublin Climate Action Week 2026 will feature a wide range of events across Dublin that explore key climate themes and highlight ongoing projects, shared objectives, and the collaborative work of the four Dublin local authorities in taking climate change action.

An exciting new community initiative, the BELIEVE Balbriggan Digital Detox was launched on Safer Internet Day 10 February 2026 at Balbriggan Library. 

More than 100 athletes, families, coaches, volunteers, and community representatives came together on 10 February at the Carnegie Court Hotel to celebrate and wish well the Fingal athletes who will compete in the Special Olympics Ireland Games this June.

Funding of over €800,000 to support festivals, events and arts across the County in 2026, reinforcing its strong commitment to cultural creativity, sustainable economic development and active, engaged communities.
