Fingal County Council is continuing to deliver a wide-ranging programme of improvements across Swords, supporting the town’s growth as a vibrant, modern urban centre while enhancing its historic character. Central to this transformation is the development of the Swords Cultural Quarter, which is emerging as a key civic and cultural destination.

A planning application to expand Dublin Airport’s annual passenger capacity from 32 to 40 million is under review. ANCA has assessed the proposal, identifying measures to reduce aircraft noise impacts and updating noise objectives. A 14‑week public consultation is now open.

The work submitted into the competition shows many interpretations of this theme and beautifully showcases the creativity and talent of artists of all ages both in Fingal, and beyond!  

In Fingal, the Council has been backed by investment of at least €50 million from HIIF for four strategic projects in the region, with the projects expected to support nearly 5000 homes in the short term and ultimately 24,000 new homes over the coming years.
