Extension of Temporary Road Closure at Raheny Close Lusk (L-5275-2)

Fingal County Council’s Operations Department has received a request from the contractor carrying out foul and surface water line installation works on behalf of McGarrell Reilly Homes. They have requested to have the current temporary road closure in place, which was due to finish this Friday 26th May 2023, extended until Wednesday 7th June 2023.

The reasons by which they are requested a further closure are outlined below:

1. Increased extent of works due to additional area of proposed road widening and new road surfacing, poor CBR’s on existing road and extent of kerb realignment extended to tie in with existing road.
2. Redesign of drainage around existing services which were not located as per “as builts drawings” from service providers.
3. Poor ground water conditions at beginning of excavation.

The Senior Executive Officer has reviewed the request and in light of the information provided, has decided to approve the request to extend the temporary road closure until Wednesday 7th June 2023.

The contractor has also been instructed to issue notices to all those businesses affected by the closure and also to update any electronic signage noting the dates of the road closure too.
