Fingal County Council Releases Brochure for Fingal Biodiversity Events Programme

Download: Fingal Biodiversity Events Programme

The events programme is a new initiative by the Biodiversity Team and presents a variety of outdoor and indoor events for the public, most of them free of charge. The programme includes hiking and snorkelling adventures, hands-on learning opportunities like pond dipping and rock pooling, biodiversity walks focussing on woodlands, hedgerows and butterflies, birdwatching events, activities for families and children led by OWLS, informative webinars and a thrilling chance to meet Melissa Jeuken and her herd of firefighting goats- and more.

Event leaders represent a range of biodiversity-focussed organisations including BirdWatch Ireland, Butterfly Conservation Ireland, Hedgerows Ireland, the Herpetological Society of Ireland and the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group.

The aim of the programme is to offer a wide range of ways for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn about and engage with the rich biodiversity in the Fingal area. We hope that it will provide an opportunity for members of the public to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the natural world and, if absolutely necessary, to have some fun in the process.

Information about the events is available through the printed brochure, or online at eventsinfingal.ie. Questions and issues not covered in the brochure or event listings may be addressed to biodive%[email protected] " rel="nofollow"> [email protected] .
