Check out the following events in Balbriggan Library on 22nd and 24th and Blanchardstown Library the 24th to celebrate Africa Day 2025

Balbriggan Library 22nd May at 6.30pm 

Celebrate Africa Day 2025 by joining Darren Rogers, a local musician from Balbriggan, and John Nutekpor, an African musician also based in Balbriggan as they host a family friendly musical event. Darren will play some Irish folk music on his guitar/harmonica, followed by music from John Nukepor. John will play African music from the African flute, the African talking drums, bells and shakers.  There will be an interactive activity with the audience, allowing the audience to experiment and play with the different instruments.

Balbriggan Library 24th May at 2pm 

To celebrate #AfricaDay, Dr. Olusegun Morakinyo will exhibit pictures of African collections from Irish museums, & give a lecture on the intersecting histories of Africa & Ireland in #BalbrigganLibrary. Booking essential via the library @ 01 870 4401/ [email protected]

 

Blanchardstown Library 24th May at 2.30pm

To celebrate Africa Day 2025 Blanchardstown will host an in-conversation event with three amazing writers,  Melatu Uche Okorie, Neo Florence Gilson & Gonchigkhand Byambaa. Moderated by Evelyn Nomayo. Free tickets & info available on Eventbrite now.
