Claremont Beach

Claremont Beach is a small cove-like beach situated close to the harbour in Howth. It is a popular beach all year round and there are a number of pubs and restaurants located along the Harbour Road and in the village of Howth.

Claremont Beach is located close to Howth Harbour.

Dublin Bus operates the 31B from Dublin City Centre, which stops at the beach. Alternatively,  Irish Rail operates the DART service to Howth Station. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the train station to the beach. If travelling by car, why not check out the Google map link at the Location sidebar on the right of this page to plan your route.

The Claremont Beach lifeguard station is operational during summer months only. Lifeguards are on duty from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturdays and Sundays in June and every day from July to August.

Claremont Beach is an identified beach under the Bathing Water Quality Regulations 2008 (SI No. 79 of 2008). The water quality is monitored regularly from mid-June to mid-September every year.  Water quality results are available on the beach noticeboard and on the EPA website www.beaches.ie.
