Tree Preservation Order
Environmental Conservation and Suitability
We may make a tree preservation order to protect a tree, group of trees or woodland which may be under threat. Tree preservation orders have been made for three locations in Fingal, The Vicarage, Church Road, Swords; Santry Demesne and Brackenstown/Brazil, Swords.
Section 205 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 provides for the making of TPOs by the Planning Authority where it is considered desirable to preserve trees on amenity grounds.
Tree Felling Licences are dealt with by the Department of Agriculture. Application forms can be obtained from local Garda Stations.
