Fingal County Council has established the Aircraft Noise Competent Authority which is the new body responsible for ensuring that noise generated by aircraft activity at Dublin Airport is assessed in accordance with EU and Irish legislation.

The fourth annual Write Time Festival organised by Fingal Libraries celebrates the written and spoken word in Fingal. Libraries will host free workshops and talks throughout the month of September to spark the imagination and inspire creativity.

Fingal County Council has been shortlisted for eleven awards in the sixteenth annual Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards. The Awards, sponsored by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, are held to recognise and celebrate the outstanding work being carried out by Local Authorities all over Ireland.
