Bike Parking

The Active Travel team has been busy throughout 2021 adding new cycle parking across Fingal. Fingal County Council have provided free bicycle parking racks for installation at schools and clubs following a public call for applications.

The Department of Environment, Climate Action and Active Travel has also identified public locations where additional bike parking facilities were needed and has installed bike racks in those areas.

Installation work began in September 2021 and to date we have added 258 new bike parking spaces around the County.

We've mapped all Fingal County Council installed bike parking stands throughout the County. Click the map to find a bike stand near you.

Schools

45 schools responded to an ‘expression of interest’ form issued to Fingal schools. All of these schools have received free bike racks which they installed themselves. Most of these bike racks are 'toast rack' type stands which can be bolted into place.

39 clubs responded to an ‘expression of interest’ form issued publicly on social media and the Fingal County Council website. All of these clubss have received free bike racks which they installed themselves.

In the Community

A specialist contractor was appointed in September 2021 and from September to November of 2021 74 separate bike parking racks were installed across Fingal. This provided a total of 148 new bike parking spots. Locations include
