Work to commence on Rathmore Park Recreational Hub, Lusk

Work on the Rathmore Park Recreational Sports Hub, Lusk will commence on 24th of August 2026. 

The works will include:

  • Bulk earthworks, drainage, watermain installation and GNI gas main diversion works.
  • A new 8-lane floodlit athletics track to World Athletics (IAAF) specification.
  • New all-weather synthetic soccer pitch and GAA training pitch.
  • Covered cycle parking, EV charging provisions, car park extension and associated landscaping works.

Malahide Comes Alive for a Day of Sport, Fun and Community at Fingal Sports Festival

The 3rd annual Fingal Sports Festival welcomed thousands of Fingal residents to Malahide Castle & Gardens on 9 August. Attendees partook in a variety of sports and activities ranging from rugby and basketball to weightlifting, disc golf, and GAA handball. A total of 25 Sport Ireland National Governing Bodies represented their sport at the festival, which provided the Fingal community with endless free sporting opportunities at none other than Dublin’s biggest sports activity day.

Anti-Graffiti Creative Sustainability Programme – Secondary Schools Only

The Anti-Graffiti Creative Sustainability Programme is a participatory arts programme for secondary school students in Fingal. Through discussion, creative exercises and practical art-making, students explore graffiti, community identity, environmental awareness and positive forms of self-expression.

Help bridge some of the gaps that exist around climate literacy education by booking a free workshop sponsored by Fingal County Council, with Education for Sustainability. These workshops are ideal for 1st year and TYs in secondary schools and 4th - 6th class in primary schools.

Green-Schools Programme – All Schools 2026

An Taisce, in partnership with Local Authorities, coordinates the national Green-Schools Programme, Ireland's leading environmental management and education programme for schools. Green-Schools is a student-led initiative that promotes long-term environmental action across the whole school community, involving students, teachers, staff, parents and the wider community.
