Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Map & Print Workshop with artist and illustrator Sophie Carroll-Hunt. Together, we explored the history of mapping as a tool for storytelling and record-keeping through historical maps of Lusk before creating a collaborative screen-printed map of the town landmarks. Participants also had the opportunity to make their own printed keepsakes to take home, celebrating creativity and local heritage.
We had an amazing time hosting our first workshop at the Ballough Place Artist Residence. This marks the beginning of a series of free workshops led by the designers behind the new furniture fit-out, Beet Woad Rust, for the Ballough Place Artist Residence.
The workshops celebrate craft, community, and shared making, bringing people together to explore creative processes, exchange skills, and connect through hands-on collaboration. We look forward to welcoming more participants as the series continues.

For everything we got up to during the Woad Workshop
We are delighted to announce design team, Beet, Woad and Rust have been commissioned to design and implement a creative, functional interior fit-out for a Fingal County Council Per Cent for Art Commission for a newly constructed residential artist studio in Lusk.
Ballough Place Residential Artist Studio aims to provide professional artists with the space and support needed to live and develop their creative practice. The residential artist studio, which is part of a new housing development, is a pioneering initiative by Fingal County Council to provide a secure, high quality live/workspace for a professional visual artist.
As part of the commission, Beet, Woad & Rust will also facilitate a series of workshops for members of the local community, who will have the opportunity to collaboratively produce bespoke furniture for the studio.
