2016 marks the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Rising. In order to honour the role the men and women of Fingal in the events of 1916 and share this story, Fingal County Council has complied a broad programme for the Fingal 2016 Centenary Commemoration. The programme will culminate in the Fingal 1916 Commemorative Day. This flagship event will take place at Swords Castle on Sunday 24th April, 2016. It will incorporate a parade, re-enactments, marching bands, an exhibition, reading of the proclamation and flag raising ceremony and much, much more to finish off with a firework display. Come join us and bring family and friends and visitors to share in this unique story that is "Fingal and the Fight for Irish Freedom".
