As the children finish up school for Summer Holidays, you may be looking for activities for  July and August!

The library has the solution to this with the start of the Summer Reading Buzz programme in Fingal Libraries.  The concept is very simple.  Children can call in to their local library and collect their “Buzz Card”.  As they read a book, they can collect a Buzzy Bee Stamp in their Buzz Card.  When they have 10 stamps collected and their card is completed with their details (name & library card number) they can then post it in to the Bee Hive Post Box in their library where they will be entered in to a draw for a prize at the end of the Summer.  Children will also receive a certificate for taking part in the Summer Reading Buzz 2015!

Along with the Reading Programme, Fingal  Libraries will be organizing different events for children such as arts & crafts workshops and storytelling. These events are all Free of Charge.  The best way to hear about all of these events is to get added to your library’s mailing list – ask a staff member on the next visit to your library.  Events are also listed here on the library webpage and many also get put up on Facebook or Twitter.

So if there is bad weather and you are unable to visit the playground or the beach, remember that there is always plenty going on in Fingal Libraries.  With games, jigsaws and colouring pages, the library is the perfect place to visit  during the Summer.  We have plenty for Mum’s & Dads too!!!

See you in the library very soon!
